In loving memory of our mother Mary L. Carden nee Poliquin of Chicago, who passed away on September 11, 2023 at the age of 94. She was the devoted wife of the late Bill Carden for 50 years. She was the loving mother to Bill (Kathy). Beth (Dec.), Maureen Pline, Tim (Dec. Kathy), Michael. Jane Kersjes (Tom), Mary Carol (Dec.), Patty Wells (Justin), and Tom (Katie). Mary was proud of her 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Mary's unwavering Catholic faith, and her devotion to the Blessed Mary and St. Anthony guided her daily life. She was a long time parishioner of St. Cornelius Church. Mary was a cheerleader, a confidant, a sounding board, a collector of friends and an all around exceptional person who made a difference in so many lives. There was always room for "one more" at her table. Even in her weakest moments she was concerned about not having treats to give her visitors or coffee for her card playing friends. Above all, Mary treasured her family.

Visitation will be held at Cooney Funeral Home (625 Busse Highway, Park Ride, IL) on Sunday, September 17, 2023, from 3-8.  Prayers will take place at Cooney Funeral Home Monday September 18 at 9:30am, the Catholic mass in celebration of Mary will be held 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 7211 W.
