Marilym "Lyn" Mahon, 86, of Chicago passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in her home surrounded by family. Lyn was born on April 28, 1928 in Willimantic, CT.  Daughter of the late Stanly and Imelda (King) Washburn.  She went to Richford High School in Richford, Vermont.  Lyn married Thomas J. Mahon on December 10, 1960 in Chicago, IL.  He preceded her in death on May 8, 1992.  Throughout the years Lyn worked as a cocktail waitress and was a teller at Arlington Racetrack. In 1986 Lyn started her career at Cook County Sheriff's Department.  In 1998 she retired from the Cook County Sheriff's Department as a 911 dispatcher.  Lyn is survived by her son Jon (Kristy) Mahon of Plainfield; grandchildren Jessica, Katrina and Devyn Mahon; stepsons Patrick (Kathy) Mahon, Mike (Joyce) Mahon; grandchildren Mark (Haley) Mahon, Erika Mahon, Christina (Dan) Ward, Cassie (Jeff) Richards, Cory (Tim) Egan and great-grandchildren Gavin, Patrick and Aileen Ward and Miller Mahon.  Two very dear friends John Flood and Joseph Sheppard. Memorial visitation at Cooney Funeral Home, 3918 W. Irving Park Rd.,Chicago on Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m.
