Margaret Patricia Langtim (Corcoran), age 89, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, August 21, 2023 at Sunrise of Barrington Care Facility. She was the devoted wife of 61 years to the late Melvin Langtim who passed away in 2018. Loving mother of Dan Langtim (Melissa), Bill Langtim (Ginny), Julie Langtim (Louis Proietti), Laura Carr, (John). Margaret found happiness with her 14 grandchildren and 8 great grand children. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Margaret grew up on the north side of Chicago and was a graduate of Immaculata High School, class of 1953. Along with her parents, Bridget and Tom Corcoran, she shared her life with her four sisters, (Mary, Catherine, Gerry and Rita) and two brothers (Tom and John). After raising her four children, she returned to college and graduated with a teaching degree at the age of forty-three. She received her Masters degree a few years later. She began her career as a Chicago public school teacher working in several different schools and retired from Alcott Elementary School in Chicago at the age of 65. Margaret enjoyed spending time with family, reading the Chicago Tribune for hours on end, paging through catalogues and traveling around the world with Mel. She loved to spend time with her sisters, children and extended family. Her smile, curiosity and sense of humor was contagious. She will be missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Mary, Seat of Wisdom Church, 920 Granville Ave, Park Ridge, IL on Saturday, September 2, beginning at 11:00am.
