Hoey, Margaret Theresa (Peggy) of Chicago (aged 85) passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A native of Omeath, County Louth, Ireland, she built a beautiful life in Chicago centered on her family and in service to others, though her heart was always with Carlingford Lough and Cooley Mountains. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Sarah Hoey, to whom she was very devoted, her loving brothers John, Patrick James (Jim), and Peter Hoey, and her brothers-in-law Joseph Kirwan and John Meer. She is survived and greatly missed by her sisters, Mary Kirwan, Brigid Meer, Sarah (Michael) McCann, and Rosaleen Hoey, and sister-in-law Maura Hoey. Auntie Peggy was beloved by 16 nephews and nieces and their families, who will always fondly remember her kind heart, gentle nature, and boundless generosity. A devoted Catholic and faithful servant of God, Peggy attended Mass daily at Saint Peter's, Saint Paul of the Cross, and several other parishes, served as a eucharistic minister, volunteered weekly at soup kitchens across Chicago, and ministered to the sick, acts that brought great joy and comfort throughout her life.  Longtime employee of the Burlington Northern Railroad.  Visitation from 9-10 am on Saturday, September 6 followed by a funeral Mass at 10:15 am at Saint Paul of the Cross, Park Ridge. Interment All Saints. In lieu of flowers, Masses, donations to the St. Patrick Fathers, or acts of service appreciated.
