Louis Ernesto Ortiz, born September 16, 1947, was the son of the late Louis H. Ortiz and Catalina Salazar. Louis died on July 8, 2022. He is survived by his children Lissa ( Ortiz) Reyes, Louie Ortiz, Genoveva Ortiz, Lloren Ortiz, and Catalina Ortiz; his grandchildren N'digo Lobo & Genevieve Calix, Louie, Dominic, & Jake Ortiz, and Eric Aidan Reyes; his siblings Joseph Ortiz, Gloria Ortiz, Larry Ruiz, Sherry Ortiz-Lichtenberg, Nancy-Jo Szobodi. He is preceded in death by his brother Michael Ortiz and grandson Zachery Ryan. Louis grew up in Chicago, IL. He proudly served in the United States Army; Vietnam Veteran. Louis was also an Illinois State Police and a Restauranteur.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 13 at Cooney Funeral Home located at 3918 W. Irving Park Rd., Chicago, IL, 60618 from 3-8 pm. Funeral Thursday, prayers at 9:30 am going to St. Andrew Catholic Church, 3546 N. Paulina St., Chicago, IL for Mass at 10:00 am.
