Hanley, Kenneth ("Red") A., 91, passed away on Feb 11, 2013 with his family at his bedside. Kenneth was born in Chicago on Dec 20, 1921. He was preceded in death by Rosemarie (Salzer), his beloved wife of 63 years; and his parents Structural Ironworker Joseph A. and wife Claire (Flynn). He was the loving father of Rosemarie (Ray) Schumacher, Kenneth M. (Annette) Hanley, Mary Lou (Ron) Baumann and William T. Hanley (Debbie); devoted grandfather of Shane, Kenny (Brianna), Tom, Joseph, Kenneth (Tina), Kristen (Brian), Ron, Phillip (Jen), Eileen (Alan) and Sharon (Casey); dear great-grandfather of Peyton, Nathaniel, Zachary, Gretchen, Spencer, Kaelan, McKenna and Chloe; favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews; dear brother-in-law to Letitia J. Stahnke; loving brother of Tootie, Sabina, Grace (Russell), Rosie, Francis, Mike, Joe and the late Wayne, Theresa and Tom. A second generation Structural Ironworker and proud member of Local #1 since 1943, he worked for the City of Chicago for over 50 years. Kenneth was also on Local One's examining board and taught welding to apprentice's at Washburn Technical School. As a WWII naval veteran, his fellow members of American Legion Post Merle Guild 208 provided a military honor guard ceremony including a 21 gun salute. Visitation at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Hwy, Park Ridge, Friday from 3 to 9 p.m. Funeral, Saturday 10:45 a.m. to Immaculate Conception Church. Mass at 11:30 a.m. Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
