Kathleen Madayag "Kat" age 46 died peacefully on May 24, 2017 at Northwestern Hospital.
Kat was born in in NYC on 8th May 1971 to Manny and Cathy Madayag. She grew up with two brothers and one sister in Glencoe and Chicago, Illinois. Kat graduated from the University of Illinois in 1993, obtained her master's in Rehabilitation Counseling in 1995, and a second master's in social work in 2006 from Loyola University. Kathleen spent over 15 years working in rehabilitation and resources for disabled patients and their families.
Kat was born with a rare condition called spinal muscular atrophy. She struggled with this disability since birth but never let it direct her path in life. She was an inspiration to so many and was a model of strength and strong values to those who met her. Kat will be remembered for her warmth, courage, and sharp wit that led to her many professional and academic achievements and long lasting friendships that she valued above all.
Kat was passionate about music, social issues, the Cubs and cupcakes.
She was deeply loved and will be missed.
