Karen A. DeLong, 74, of Park Ridge, IL, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Chicago, Karen was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth, kindness, and generosity touched everyone who knew her. She was the beloved wife of Cleo for 52 years and the cherished mother of Tracey (Kimberly). As the oldest sister, she lovingly supported her brothers, Tony (Patricia) and Andy (Joan), throughout their lives.  Karen was a woman of great strength and compassion, dedicating her life to nurturing and supporting her family. She was a loving aunt to Tony, Jennifer, Greg, Drew, Monique, Brian, Timmy, and Kevin, and a devoted great-aunt to Brecken, Camden, Jorge, Emilia, Millie, Antonella, Isla Mae, Kaylee, Andrew, and Penelope. Her love and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.  Throughout her life, Karen spent countless hours supporting her family—especially her daughter—in sports and other activities. Whether she was cheering from the sidelines or offering a helping hand, Karen's presence was a constant source of encouragement and joy. Her boundless energy and commitment to her family's happiness were evident to all who knew her. Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Therese, her father, Anthony and her brother, Andy.  A visitation for Karen will be held on Wednesday, December 18th at Cooney Funeral Home (625 Busse Hwy in Park Ridge, IL) from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 19th at 10:00 AM at St. Juliana Parish followed by internment at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you consider making a donation to a cancer organization of your choice, such as the American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, LOWVELO, or the Kidney Cancer Association.  Karen will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
