John W. Vlahavas, 78, Chicago, IL. Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends on Sunday, March 29, 2026. Loving Son of the late John Vlahavas and the late Anna Baker. Beloved Father of Christine (Mike) Houdek and Shawn (Ashley) Bell. Dear Grandfather of Ashton, Kaylynn, Eleanor, Charlotte, Mason and Elizabeth. Cherished Brother of Kathy, Connie, the late Nancy, the late Mary and Richard. 

John always had a love for music, guitars and flowers. He enjoyed planting and looking at all the flowers and animals in his garden. 

Visitation will be held Friday, April 3, 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Hwy, Park Ridge, IL 60068. Interment will remain private. For additional information call 847-685-1002.
