John R. Veloria Sr., age 85, born in Chicago on February 4, 1937, passed away on July 4, 2022.

John was a retired taxi cab driver, an avid reader, music lover, history buff, and sports fan.  In recent years, in addition to the St. Louis Cardinals and Notre Dame football, he anxiously awaited the UConn Girls basketball season.

John is survived by his ex-wife Marlene Veloria and preceded in death by his ex-wife Billie JoAnn Wimmer.

Beloved brother of Robert (Joni) Veloria, the late Rosalie (Glenn dec.) Kilgus.

Beloved father of Kathaleen (Michael) Bilbo of Chicago Illinois, John (Mary Esther) Veloria Jr. of Leander, Texas, Michael (Susan) Veloria of Gamaliel, Arkansas, Gerald (Kathy Kelly dec.) Veloria of West Plains, Missouri, Scott (Michaela) Veloria of Chicago Illinois, and Tracy (former spouse Thomas) Marino of Spring, Texas.

Grandfather of Daniel (Jo Ann) Lugo, Melanie Bilbo, Michael (Shileys) Bilbo Jr., Kristie Ramos, Jennifer Veloria, Veronica (David) Schaffer, Brandon (Tara) Bilbo, John Veloria III , Devin (Caitlin) Marino, Tyler Veloria (dec.), Reilly Veloria, Darian Peterson, Bailey Veloria, Aiden McNiff, A.J. Marino, Tori Marino, Max Marino, and Erin McNiff.

Great Grandfather of Alyssah, Kyleigh, Jesse & Daniel V Lugo, Kameryn and Mia Bilbo, Jhean, Camilo, and Sophia Bilbo, Abigail, Santino, and Nico Leuzzi, Cadence Dunn, Fiona Napoli and Micah Marino.

Uncle to many nephews and nieces, and foster Grandfather to many children.
