John Urbanski, 85, at peace on 8/28/2025. Survived by cherished wife Cheryl Urbanski married for 45 loving years. Devoted father of Michelle (Anthony) Affetto, Buddy (Daniella) Watson, Kimberly (Mark) Kinastowski, Kevin Watson, Paula (Frank) Bruno, and Jonathan (Kathryn) Urbanski. Proud grandfather of Heather (Jamie), Holly (Eric), Anthony, Tabitha, Sebastian, Fabian, Josephine, Pauline, Joey, Francesco, Mario, Alliviera, Evan, Maxwell, Nathan, Lillian and Great-Grandfather to Hailey, Viola, Cane, and Rocco. Dear brother of Edward (Carol), Theodore (Cheryl), and the late Ronald (Joanne). Beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. John proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a submariner, where he developed the discipline, focus, and sense of duty that shaped his life. After his service, he built a long and accomplished career, ultimately spending over 40 years with Northrop Grumman as an Electrical Engineering Director. He took great pride in knowing that the innovations he contributed to were instrumental in advancing technology and in keeping the United States of America and its citizens safe. John was a man of contrasts, thoughtful and reflective, yet also full of life and exuberance. His strong voice and vibrant presence filled every room he entered, leaving no doubt that he was there. As a parishioner at Mary Seat of Wisdom, he took time to pause, pray, and reflect; John used that reflection to guide his family and friends. Beyond his career and service, John was a passionate reader with an insatiable curiosity. He explored a wide range of topics and took joy in sharing his knowledge and insights with others. He also found great satisfaction in working on his personal projects and was always eager to lend his time, skills, and wisdom to help loved ones with their endeavors. He will be remembered for his generosity of spirit, his love of learning, his larger-than-life personality, and the countless ways he supported and cared for those around him. Above all, John cherished his role as a husband, father, and grandfather. He found joy in life's simple moments and treasured time spent with Cheryl, his children, and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed, but his love, humor, generosity, and devotion will live on through his family and all who knew him.
