Obituary

Jeffrey “Jeff” Raymond Gibellin was born in Chicago to Raymond and Shirley (née Sychowski) Gibellin. One of five children, Jeff grew up on the North Side of Chicago, where he spent his early years and began building the foundation for life of hard work and dedication.

Jeff attended Prosser High School in Chicago before beginning his career as an apprentice in tool and die work. Through dedication, he developed his skills and became a machinist and moldmaker, building a career in a trade.

Jeff was also a devoted Freemason and a proud member of Paul Revere Lodge, where he served two terms as Grand Master. His commitment to the Masonic fraternity reflected his dedication to service, leadership, and brotherhood. His involvement in the Lodge was an important part of his life, and he will be remembered by his Masonic brothers for his service and fellowship.

Outside of his career and Masonic involvement, Jeff had a deep appreciation for the great outdoors and an adventurous spirit. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson, canoeing, camping, sailing, and skeet shooting. Whether cruising along the open road, spending time on the water, enjoying a camping trip, or testing his aim, Jeff found happiness in the freedom and adventure of his favorite pastimes. His love for the outdoors was an important part of who he was and reflected his appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.

Jeff was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Raymond and Shirley Gibellin, and his sister, Laura Krismer.

He is survived by his dear siblings, Nancy (Bob) Rickards, Jean Gibellin, and Jim Gibellin; his brother-in-law and friend, Nick Krismer; and his nieces and nephews: Mark Krismer, Katherine Benisck, Jackie Smith, Ryan Rickards, Brian Gibellin, David Gibellin, and James Gibellin.

Jeff will be remembered for his dedication to his craft, his commitment to Freemasonry, his lifelong devotion to sustaining his cherished friendships from all walks of life, his adventurous spirit, and his love of the great outdoors. He leaves behind a family, friends, and Masonic brothers who will cherish his memory and honor the legacy he leaves behind.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Highway, Park Ridge, Illinois.

A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. and will include a Catholic blessing, a eulogy, and Masonic funeral rites.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children in honor of Jeff’s memory.
