Jeanne B. Beck

Beloved wife of the late Jerome, devoted mother of William (Frances), Nancy (Thomas) Wolf, Linda (David) Kappas, Thomas (Justine), Carol (Timothy) Stelzer and Diane (Stewart) Frelke; loving grandmother of 15, and great grandmother of 13; preceded in death by her dear siblings and their spouses; James (Elinor) Godart, Laverne (George) Westfall, and Rosemarie (Lorenzo) Martinez; fond aunt and friend to many.

Born in Chicago to John M. and May Meyer Godart. She lost both parents at a tender young age and was raised by her grandparents. Jeanne postponed completing her high school education to help support her family. She earned her GED many years later. She was a long-time active member of St. Benedict parish in Chicago. In the early 1980’s Jeanne, her husband and their youngest daughter, Diane moved to Delavan, Wisconsin where they lived for over 30 years. Jeanne was an involved member of St. Andrew’s parish in Delavan. She loved staying active, spending her summers swimming, boating, water skiing, gardening, walking with friends and basking in the sunshine. She took great pride in her family and her home, and surrounded herself with those she loved most, often serenading them with a little song, working jigsaw puzzles or sharing her homemade dill pickles and rhubarb pie. She had a gift for bringing family and friends together for some great parties, vacations, weekends at the cottage, camping, special celebrations and fun holiday traditions. She will be remembered for her love of life, strength, generosity, faith, and the many memories she created with those fortunate enough to know her.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Jeanne and Jerome Beck on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 3 to 7pm. Prayer service at 7pm. Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Hwy. Park Ridge, IL. Interment private.
