James B. Delahunty – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Seamus (Jim) Delahunty, who passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026 at the age of 88.  Born in Dublin, Ireland, raised in Kilkenny and  he later made his home in Chicago, where he built a life centered on family, faith and hard work.  He was a devoted father, proud grandfather, loving brother, and loyal friend.  Known for his kindness, quick wit, steady strength and generosity, he left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Yvonne (Padraig) Daly, son Joe, daughter in law Christine and his cherished grandchildren; Aisling, Aidan, Meghan, Declan and Kelsey who were the light of his life.  He is also survived by his brother Eamon and sisters Eilish, Moira, along with many nieces and nephews, extended family members and dear friends.  Preceded in death by his father Joseph, mother Elizabeth, Patricia  and sister and Kathleen.  Proud member of Local 399.  U. S. Army Veteran.   A visitation will be held at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Hwy in Park Ridge on Sunday from 3-8 p.m.  Funeral Monday, prayers at 9:30 going to St. Paul of the Cross Church for 10 a.m. Mass.  Interment All Saints Cemetery.
