James M. Nape , Age 48, passed away suddenly on Monday, May 15, 2017 in Fremont, CA.  Jim was born and raised in Chicago, IL and earned the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.  Jim most recently resided in Richmond, CA with his family and was a logistics coordinator at Telsa Motors.  He also taught at the College of Alameda in Airframe Mechanics.

Jim loved the outdoors and tried to spend his free time enjoying it by hiking, camping and biking with his family.  He also had a passion of looking at stars and planets and recently began photographing them.  He looked forward to introducing his granddaughter to some of his loves when she grew older.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John M. and Audrey Nape.  He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Rosalie (Garcia), daughters Kaighlie and Ivy, son Ryan and granddaughter Luna.  He also leaves behind sisters Noel E. Nape and Kristiana (Joe) Worley and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family, friends and others whose lives Jim touched are invited to Cooney Funeral Home, 3918 W. Irving Park Rd., Chicago from 3 to 9 p.m. (family led service at 8:00 p.m.) on Friday, May 26, 2017 to reminisce, grieve and support each other.  Private burial. Inlieu of flowers, donations can be made to NESA PTAC (National Eagle Scout Association, Pathway to Adventure Council) which supports scouts and scouting in the Chicago area.
