James Jeremiah Connolly "Jerry" , 91, of Chicago IL, retired Chicago Police Commander for 39 years, WW II Veteran, passed on Thursday June 25, 2015.  Alumnus of St.Ignatius, St. Ambrose University and a law degree from LaSalle University.  Beloved husband of Nora Margaret (nee Rowland); dear father of Margaret, Daniel (Sharon), Mary Kathryn (the late Bill Sullivan), Jeremiah (Nancy) and Michael (Jani);  loving grandfather of Daniel, Maggie (Javi) Castro, Krissie, Elizabeth, Sara, Samantha, Abigael, Devin, and Aidan;  dear uncle to many nieces and nephews;  brother of Mary (the late Edward) Stack and the late Daniel(the late Mary) and the late Dolores (the late Harvey) Merckens.  Visitation Tuesday 3-9 p.m. at Cooney Funeral Home 625 Busse Hwy Park Ridge.  Funeral Wednesday 9:15 a.m. to St. Mary of the Woods Church for 10 a.m. mass.  Interment All Saints.  In lieu of flowers donations to Mercy Home- Misericordia would be appreciated.
