Gannon, James G.  loving son of the late John and Marie;  dear brother of the late Margarite Wolter and the late Jack.  He was a lifetime friend of Virginia Santoro.  James is remembered for almost 50 years of teaching English at Lane Tech and Truman College where he was professor of English for 30 years and Chairman of the English Department for 20 years.  Students and faculty will remember his thoughtfulness and strong intelligence.   Visitation will be at Cooney Funeral Home 625 Busse Hwy Park Ridge on  Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon .  There will be a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home going to All Saints Cemetery.  Info 847-685-1002 www.cooneyfuneralhome.com
