Hugh Joseph O'Malley - age 84, Retired C.P.D. loving husband of Helen (nee McLaughlin); devoted and loving father of the late Kathleen (Michael) Smith, Timothy (Terri), Hugh (Lori), Patrick (Janet), Sheila (Bill) Klotz, James (Liz) and Colleen (Ernie) Espitia; proud Papa of Michael and Ryan (Roxanne) Smith, Bridget (Josh) Powers, Annie (Eric) Leaver, Seamus, Marykate, Ian, Maggie, Sarah and Hugh O'Malley and Erin Espitia; great grandfather of Tristyn and Riley Smith and Hadley and Jordan Powers;  dear brother of John , the late Sr. Rosemary, CSJ, Martin (the late Rachel), Sr. Kathleen CSJ, the late Bernadette (Thomas) Lynch, the late Suzanne (the late Ray) Carolan, Patricia (Jim) Cahill, Michael, the late Thomas and Jim (Colleen) O'Malley; fond uncle to many nieces and nephews; fond brother in law and loyal friend to all.  Hugh was the founding member of 4135 Eddy St.  Hugh was a retired Chicago Police Lieutenant with 36 years on the job.  He loved serving the City of Chicago and loved all those who served beside him. Hugh was a true gentleman in every sense of the word.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.  Visitation Wednesday 3-9 p.m. at Cooney Funeral Home 625 Busse Hwy.
