Himley, Gisela "Rose", 92, a resident of Park Ridge for more than 60 years, passed away Thursday, March 21. Born in Ludwigshafen, Germany June 5, 1920, she came to this country with her parents, Henry and Karolina (Schug) Keller in 1924, passing through Ellis Island. They settled in Charleroi, PA, where she grew up. She came to Chicago as a young woman to work, and met and married Robert D. Himley in 1940. They built their own home and resided in Park Ridge from 1952. Rose worked at banks in the Park Ridge area, including First National Bank of Park Ridge, later becoming O'Hare International Bank and Northern Trust. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Park Ridge, and the Twentieth Century Club. Rose dearly enjoyed gardening, spending hours in her yard tending her prized flowers every summer. She framed the landscaping award she received from the city of Park Ridge. She was the dear mother of Robert (Lynn) Himley, Jr. and William (Barbara) Himley, both of Schaumburg; grandmother of Dr. John (Kathleen) Himley of Crystal Lake, Michael (Rhonda) Himley of Laguna Niguel, CA, Kathleen Himley Neziri, and LeeAnn Himley, Schaumburg, Sue (James) Tobin, St. Charles, and adoring great-grandmother of eight: Nick Neziri, Joshua, Kyle, Jared, & Emma Himley, and Tyler, Sydney and Ryan Tobin. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, and brothers, Fritz of Baton Rouge, LA, Henry of Washington, PA, and Lawrence Keller of Wauconda, IL , sisters Anna Snyder of Fremont Ohio, and Mildred Schutz of Kenosha, WI. She is also survived by one sister, Caroline of Melrose Park, and brother-in-law, George (Violet) Himley of Park Ridge, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Hwy, Park Ridge. Monday from 3 to 9 p.m. Funeral, Tuesday to Redeamer Church Service at 10:00 a.m. Interment Town of Maine Cemetery.
