Dr Gerald "Jerry" Robert Blake, 83, of Beaufort, SC, formerly of St. Charles, IL died peacefully on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Jerry was a graduate of Loyola Academy, Loyola University and Loyola Dental School. Honorable discharge, served two years in the US Army at Ft. Dix. He practiced dentistry for many years in Schaumburg, IL and was an accomplished pilot and woodworker. After he retired, he and his wife, Vickie, spent a number of years traveling before moving to South Carolina where they enjoyed almost 12 years of year round sunshine. Jerry is survived by his wife of 38 years, Victoria "Vickie" nee Rogowski; children Andrew (Donna), Thomas (Siri), John (Jean), Kathryn (Steve) Hayslip, Diane (David) Bennett, Lisa (Johnnie) Simmons and stepson Sean McDonald; 25 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; sisters Joan Blake, Barbara Glanz and Nancy (Patrick) O'Connor; the mother of his first 5 children, Elizabeth McGonigle; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jerry was the son of the late Robert J and Mary (nee Sweeney) Blake.  Visitation at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Hwy., Park Ridge on Monday from 3 to 9 p.m.  Funeral Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. to St. Margaret Mary Church.  Mass at 10:00 a.m.  Interment All Saints Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer's Assn or Friends of Caroline Hospice, Port Royal, SC would be greatly appreciated.
