Frances Julia Planthaber (née Trippiedi), 89, of Chicago, IL passed away the morning of December 4, 2022. She is preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence Trippiedi, her parents Julia and Ross Trippiedi, daughter, Debbie Stenerson-Lucas, daughter in law, Lois S. Planthaber and survived by her proud son, Michael J Planthaber Sr., beloved brother, Joe (Debbie) Trippiedi, loving partner, Edward Kocal, loving son-in law, Rick Stenerson, cherished grandchildren, Bobby Lucas, Stacey Lucas, Michael J Planthaber Jr., Jori (Tom) Smith, Juline (Aaron) Patlan, Elle (Ethan) Pressly, dearest great grandchildren, Leah, Willow, Zachary, Theodore, Jack, Caroline, fond nephews, great nieces and nephews, loving cousins, friends, and cherished dog, Rosie.

Frances was an incredibly proud Italian American with strong family roots from Palermo where her family immigrated from Ventimiglia di Sicilia. Frances had a great love for cheetah and zebra print, dancing, especially to polka music, bowling, playing cards, bingo, and loved to gift and play scratch off tickets. Christmas was one of her favorite holidays. She cherished having her family over for dinner, gifting presents and handing out her beloved Hershey's kisses and Reese's chocolates in candy canes.

Frances was one of the strongest Italian women you would ever meet. She loved to laugh and smile. Her love ran deep for her family and loved ones. She also loved all her pets over the years including her many dogs, birds, and a few goldfish. She was always there for many of our family's life achievements and accomplishments. Although she will no longer be with us, she will be missed and remembered dearly.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Cooney Funeral Home located at 625 Busse Hwy. in Park Ridge.
