Eugene P. "Geno" O'Keefe -

Eugene Patrick OKeefe-  Age 73, passed away peacefully after a sudden devastating illness. He was surrounded by his loving family. Gene was the beloved husband of Patricia; dear son of the late Eugene and Fara (Nee Powers) OKeefe. He is survived by his devoted brother Ronald OKeefe Christa) loving sister, Doreen (Rick) Kough; loving father to Kellie OKeefe, and a wonderful grandfather to his 5 grandchildren, Nicholas Pasowicz, Ryan Pasowicz, Rebecca Ragusin, Eugene Ragusin and Brooklyn House. He was the best brother in law to Terese Malave (Louis Rosen), Michelle Ragusin (Jim) and Michael Hagen (Laurie). Gene was a fun loving cousin to Linda Graf (Powers) and an adored Uncle to all his nephews, nieces, great-nieces, and great-nephews, with whom he shared a special and lasting bond. Gene worked for the Chicago Park District for 30 years retiring as the Supervisor of Independence Park. He devoted his life to children. After his retirement he went on to work part-time jobs with After School Matters, White Pines Golf Course and the Riis Park Ice Rink. Gene was also very competitive. He played Football, Basketball, Softball and Golf. He was extremely proud that his softball team "The Jets" were just inducted into the 16" Softball Hall of Fame. Gene will be remembered for his humor, his kindness, and his remarkable ability to bring joy and connection to those around him. His memory lives on in the hearts of the family, and friends who loved him deeply. Celebration of Life will be held on Friday December 5th, at White Pines Golf Course from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
