Lt. Eugene "Jim" Abbott, 68, retired Chicago Fire Department after 38 years of service, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 8, 2015 in his Edison Park home. Beloved husband of Susan (nee O'Hara); dear son of Mary and the late Eugene "Pat"; beloved father of Jim (Todd McDonald) and Brandee Taber; loving grandfather of Melanee, Kyle and Jillian Taber; brother of Thomas (Debra) and Robert; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; survived by his former spouse and mother of his children, Linnea Pioro; and friend to all who knew him.
