Ely, Elizabeth nee Corcoran Longtime resident of both Northbrook and Park ridge, Illinois, passed away Saturday, December 1st at her home. She was 101 years young. Elizabeth was born, raised and married in Buffalo, New York. She and her late husband, Milton J. Ely moved to the Chicago area with their 2 daughters in the 1950's. Elizabeth attended business college in Buffalo and was a longtime active member of a social sorority there. She worked most of her career in the brokerage business as the executive assistant to the president of Rodman Renshaw Brokerage House until her retirement at age 73. She kept active in her community either as a volunteer at organizations such as Lutheran General Hospital or joining groups like the Park Ridge Catholic Woman's Club and the Park Ridge Book Review. She is survived by her daughters Karen Sterling (Roger), Marcia Steere (Harry), her step-daughter Jacqueline (Ely) Randazzo, her grandchildren, Erin Sterling, Elisabeth Steere, Lauri, Jodi, Randy and Joseph Randazzo and her great-grandsons, Cole and Kellen. As well as many nieces and nephews. She will be missed forever. Her funeral will be Tuesday, December 18th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul of the Cross Church on Northwest Highway in Park Ridge.
