Eileen Ward, 83, of Chicago, passed away February 12, 2024, at home with her adoring family by her side.

She was born to the late Charles and Helen Schultz on June 25, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois alongside her twin sister Ellen (late Emmett) Kelly. On April 24,1965, she married the late Vincent Ward and soon thereafter they began to build a loving family comprised of six children: Mary Eileen, Patrick (Janine), Charles (Nancy), Timothy (Katherine), Bridget (James) Brandon and Christine (Gregg) Fetterman and sixteen grandchildren. Eileen was also preceded in birth by her other siblings - the late Catherine (late Bob) Dirkes, late Chuck (late Betty), Bob (late Gerri), Marilyn (late Bill) Simon, late Jack (Joanne), Donald (Tina) and Frank (Marylou). She is also survived by countless nieces, nephews and friends.

Eileen had a tough independence about her and that strength helped her overcome many of life's challenges that came her way. She also had a tender heart and a spirit of generosity. Eileen shared her kindness with those around her.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to the March of Dimes or Alzheimer's Foundation would be appreciated.

Visitation will be held Friday February 16, 2024 3:00pm- 8:00pm at Cooney Funeral Home located at 625 Busse Hwy in Park Ridge. Funeral Mass Saturday February 17, 2024 friends and family are asked to meet at Queen of Angels Church for 10:00am mass.
