Edmond J. Burke - age 88 - passed away peacefully on March 28, 2024. Edmond was born on October 29, 1935 in Castleisland, Co. Kerry, Ireland.  He was the son of the late Edmond and Delia (Sullivan) Burke. Edmond is preceded in death by his sister, Hannah Mae Rogers, his brother, John C. Burke, and his treasured daughter, Maureen M. Digan.  He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Eileen (nee McGrath) Burke. Cherished father of Theresa A. Burke and Delia (Burke) Ronan. Fond father -in- law to Tom Digan and Pat Ronan. Adoring and proud Papa to Makayla, Tommy, and Declan Digan, Sean , Maeve, Maggie and Patrick Ronan. Beloved brother, brother in-law, uncle, godfather and friend to many. He proudly worked for the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) for 40 years meeting many fellow Irishmen who became lifelong friends. Eddie was a family man loved by all and will be missed for his stories, jokes, pranks, and ability to tell it like it is.  Visitation Tuesday April 2nd ,2024  10:00 a.m. to 12 noon at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Hwy., Park Ridge. Prayers at 12:00 noon going to St. Paul of the Cross  Church for  12:30 p.m. Mass.. Interment.
