Chris Skafidas of Park Ridge, IL, age 87 passed away on March 28, 2023 surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Angela (Karas); loving father of Pam (Tom) Brander and the late Ted; adored Papa of Christopher, Tommy and Katie; loving brother to Ted (Sylvia) and Angeliki (John); brother in law to George and Sandra Karas; uncle and friend to many both in Greece and the United States. Chris was born in Sparta, Magoula Greece in 1935. He moved to Chicago where he worked in the restaurant industry and operated his own restaurant. Chris loved to cook for family and friends and tend to his vegetable garden. He enjoyed his early morning workouts and breakfasts with his Community Center friends. Chris especially loved to watch his grandchildren play sports and could always be found cheering them on. They were the light of his life.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023 from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at Cooney Funeral Home located at 625 Busse Hwy. in Park Ridge, proceeding to Saints Peter & Paul Greek Orthodox Church in Glenview for a service at 11:30 a.m. Interment Town of Maine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Michael J.
