Catherine Monica Lynch (nee Raleigh), 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a lengthy battle with cancer. Came from Newcastle West Co. Limerick Ireland for a bit and stayed the rest of her life. Monica was a dedicated mother and friend. She started her nursing career at the Richmond in Dublin, moving to the US and working at Mercy, Northwest/JFK/Our Lady of the Resurrection hospitals in Chicago where she cared for many. Beloved wife of the late John (Jackie) Lynch of Ballybunion Co. Kerry Ireland; loving mother of John (Merri), Aidan, and Alan; cherished "Nana" of Ciara Joy and her mom Angie; sister of Aidan, Neta Bourke, Imelda Dudley, Mary Luca, Sean, Eileen McDonnell, the late Michael and Liam; sister-in-law to Mary Murphy and the late Pat Lynch; aunt to many nieces and nephews in the US, Ireland, and Europe. Visitation Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Hwy., Park Ridge, IL. All to meet Thursday for 10:00 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Paul of the Cross Church, 320 S. Washington, Park Ridge. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
