Bob Bechtel, age 89, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in his home surrounded by his loving daughters. He was a Cherished Father to 3 girls: Katherine Goodwin (Derek), Elizabeth Ryles (Larry), and Margaret Bechtel (Sean), and a loving Grandfather to Aiden, Bella, Brady, Mary Grace, Ben, Sarah, William and Brennan. Bob grew up in Chicago and earned an Electrical Engineering Degree, and was a proud employee at ComEd for many years. He was an Army Vet and served in the Korean War. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing ping-pong games, visiting friends at the Senior Center of Park Ridge, and amazing days spent with his grandkids. He will be greatly missed by his Daughters and family, also his life-long friends, and all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Cooney Funeral Home located at 625 Busse Hwy. in Park Ridge.
