Bernice Patricia Szpila (nee Warush) was born to eternal life September 5, 2020. She was born October 21, 1929 in Chicago, the daughter of Michael Warush and Salomea Warush (nee Gondek).

In 1955, Bernice met her husband, Walter at the Congress Ballroom where she said yes to a dance that lasted all evening. They were married August 31, 1957 at Holy Trinity, embarking on 57 years of marriage. They were blessed with four children, Richard, John, Karen, and James. Bea's greatest joy was er husband and family.

Bernice is survived by her four children: Richard (Maureen Ford), John, Karen, and James (Kathleen Stanton); her granddaughters Cate and Sophia Rose, her beloved dog Cookie, her sisters Teresa (Warush), Jane (Zawkiewicz) and Cecelia (Rieker).

Bernice was preceded in death by her husband Walter, her parents Michael and Salomea, brothers John, Joseph, Edward, and sisters Helen and Mary Ann.

A memorial Mass will be held at St. Thomas Becket Catholic Church located at 1321 N. Burning Bush Lane in Mount Prospect on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, Mass cards preferred.
