Birt born Mar 5, 1926 native of Ballynease, Co Derry, Ireland, beloved husband of the late Bridget (Bea); son of the late Mary Ann (McCann) and James; beloved father of James (Darline), John (Gail), Angela (the late Ted) Moore and Bernadette Birt (James Kaczkowski); loving grandfather of Pamela (Billy) King, Kimberly, Gregory (Therese), Katherine Birt, Michelle (Chris) Deckworth, Scott Birt, Nicole, Sean Moore, Steven (Sandra) and Patrick (Ashley Grob) Dogiakos and Matt Kaczkowski; dearest great-grandfather of Paige, Collin, Logan, Blake King; Morgan Correll, Bridget, Chase Birt; Brantley, Riley Deckworth. Art is the brother of the late Margaret (John) Kelleher, William (the late Julia), Henry (Mary), the late Michael (Dolores), John (Carole), Brigid (the late Michael Hurl), Sarah (Hugh) Griffin, and Thomas (Sarah); beloved brother-in-law and fond uncle to many nieces and nephews. Art and Bea loved their years as snowbirds in Peoria, AZ and he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Irish American Heritage Society, as well as previous COF, Chief Ranger, St. Gregory Credit Union, Bingo team & St. Vincent DePaul.  Visitation at Cooney Funeral Home 625 Busse Hwy, Park Ridge, IL Friday August 5 from 3-9pm; Funeral Saturday, 8:45 am. to St. Gregory Church, 5645 Paulina. Mass at 10:00 am. Interment All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
