Anthony "Tony" James Murphy (age 79) passed away peacefully on February 20, 2017 with his loving family by his side.  He was born in Munhin, Bangor Erris, County Mayo, Ireland to the late Edward and Bridget (nee Deane).  He is survived by his loving wife Bridget (nee Casey) Cornamona, five children Kathleen, Angela (James) Gardiner, Pauline, Tony (Julie) and Erin (Liam) Murray and twelve of the best grandchildren Kate, James, Fiona, Sean & Aidan Gardiner, Annie, Liam, Rosie & Kevin Murray, Tony, Helen & Claire Murphy, and his brothers Michael John (Shirley), Eamon (Sadie), Gerard (Mairin), Kevin (Bridie).  He was preceded in death by his sister the late Pauline (PJ) Crann.  He had many loving nieces and nephews.  Tony was a proud member of Carpenter's Union Local 13 for over 50 years and a US Army veteran.  Visitation Fri, Feb 24 3pm - 9pm at Cooney Funeral Home, 3918 W Irving Park Rd, Chicago, IL. 60618, funeral Saturday, family and friends are asked to meet at St. Andrew Catholic Church for a 10:00 a.m. mass, interment at All Saints Catholic Cemetery.
