Anthony F. Gerhart, 85, of Forsyth, formerly of Chicago, peacefully departed on Sunday, January 17, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 19, 1930, in Chicago, to Anton and Katherine (Schaefer) Gerhart. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marie; loving father of, Kathy (Ed) Schmitz, Michael Gerhart, Patty (Ted) Seger, Chris(Jeff) Buchanan, Richard Gerhart, Anthony (Lillian) Gerhart and Mary (Gaurang) Patel; loving grandfather of 14 and great-grandfather of 9; and a sister, Ann LaCerra. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 21, 2016, at St. Benedict Church3900 N Leavitt St, Chicago, IL 60618.  Burial will be in Maryhill Cemetery in Niles.
