Alfred J. Tibus was born on October 25, 1928, and passed away on March 22, 2015. He lived his entire life in Chicago, loving to play, coach and watch baseball, even trying out for the Cubs. He was the last surviving sibling, and dear brother to Carl, Olive, Michael, Alfons, Thomas, Rosemary and Harold.
He was also a beloved uncle of Alfons, George, William, Gerald and the late Peter Tibus, Roger Putts, Janice Schroeder, Nancy Putts, Joan Blackburn, Raymond Putts, Walter Putts and the late Norma Eineke. He was loved and adored by numerous grand nieces and nephews. An Army veteran who served during the Korean war, he never married, but was made an honorary member of the St Alphonsus Fathers Club because of his years of coaching baseball at the school.
Alfred worked and saved hard, retiring at age 55. This allowed him to spend a lot of time working in his garden and vacationing on the Gulf in Florida, where he spent time relaxing and splashing in the waves, often with family. He loved to play nickel/dime poker with his siblings and nieces & nephews at parties, and he always seemed to have a smile and kind words for everyone. He will be missed.
