Alfred (Al) E. Munger Sr, 82 passed away peacefully on May 9, 2024, at University of Chicago Hospital in Chicago, IL. Born in Monongahela, PA to Charles Munger and Hannah Munger, nee Fine, both loving and hardworking parents of 11 children. In his teenage years, Al worked with his father as a Carpenter's Apprentice. He graduated from Elizabeth Forward High School in 1960, before marrying his lifelong partner and best friend, Susan P. Munger, nee Johnson, in 1961. In hopes of finding work, he moved to the Chicago area with his wife. It was there he found his passion and love for baking, and worked as a Baker until he retired in 2004. In 1971, Al and Susan adopted their loving daughter, Robin Zebleckis, nee Munger. Years later, they welcomed two children Alfred (Alfie) E. Munger, Jr. and Amy C. Morajda, nee Munger. Al loved to garden, and took pride in his home-grown vegetables, particularly his tomatoes. He was very handy and could fix almost anything. He could often be found working on the family cars, building a piece of furniture, or making household repairs. He was a lover of country music; Waylon Jennings and Loretta Lynn being some of his favorite artists. He loved to sing, and he had a beautiful voice, singing Tenor. He was a deacon for many years at First Christian Church in Elgin, IL, and each Sunday, his voice could be heard over the others, singing the old hymns. Al had a keen sense of humor that was unmatched, and cannot be replicated, it was very much his own. He loved his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Alfred (Alfie) E. Munger, Jr. A loving father, Al is survived by his two other children, Robin Zebleckis, nee Munger, and Amy C. Morajda, nee Munger. He is survived by 7 grandchildren: Bill Zebleckis, Phillip Zebleckis, Samantha Pageau, nee Zebleckis, Robert Zebleckis, Violet Morajda, Scarlett Morajda, and Elliott Morajda. The family would like to thank all the family and friends who have reached out with prayers and support. Al will be dearly missed; his legacy will live on through his loved ones, as he holds a very special place in their hearts.
