Victor Russell

Victor W Russell, 78, passed away Sunday, December 30 after a brief illness.  He died at his home in Chicago, which he shared with his life partner of 46½  years, Edwin Bierzychudek. Victor was an Administrative Law Judge for the Federal Government Merit Systems Protection Board for 26 years.  He served as a senior judge hearing cases involving the US Traffic Controllers dismissed from federal service during the Reagan Administration. Victor was born in Park Falls, WI on February 27, 1940.  He graduated from Wisconsin State College in Eau Claire in 1962.  For three years, Victor taught history and social studies at Whitnall High School in Hales Corners, WI.  Victor returned to the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1965 and graduated with a J.D. degree in 1968.  Victor enjoyed traveling with Ed and loved spending time with his family. Victor is survived by his life partner, Edwin Bierzychudek, his sister Audrey (James) Banovetz, his brother Dan (Janie) Russell, nieces and nephews Lisa (Mike) Green, Kathy (Steve) Jaskowiak, Jim (Sheila) Banovetz, Steve (Mary) Banovetz, Mark (Lisa) Banovetz, Laurie (Jim) Mitchell and Heidi Russell, 24 great nieces and nephews and 4 great, great nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Audrey Russell. A visitation for Victor will be held Thursday, January 3 from 10:00 a.m.-10:45 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Parish, 1010 West Webster Avenue, Chicago, IL.  A funeral Mass will follow the visitation at 11:00 am.  Internment will be at St. Cecilia Cemetery in Butternut, WI.  Memorial donations can be made to the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire Foundation.
