Mary Ann Moynihan, a beloved daughter, mother, sister, animal lover, Entrepreneur, and life-long resident of Chicago, Illinois died unexpectedly on December 21st, 2018 at the age of 54 of a heart attack in her home. Mary Ann is survived by her mother, Mary Moynihan (nee Scannell); her daughter, Kathleen Moynihan; her brother, Michael Moynihan; her sister Kathy Moynihan. She is predeceased by her brother, Timothy Moynihan Jr.; her brother, John Moynihan; and her father Timothy Moynihan Sr. Mary Ann was born in Chicago on January 2, 1964 to Mary Moynihan (nee Scannell) and Timothy Moynihan Sr. On March 30, 1980, she welcomed her beloved daughter, Kathleen, who was the most important part of her life; raising her with great love, patience, and empathy for all life. Mary Ann was overjoyed at expecting her first grandchildren in April of 2019, two twin girls - Siobhan and Moira.Mary Ann was a devoted mother, sister, creative artist, and animal rescue volunteer/foster. She enjoyed hiking, backpacking, and enjoying the majestic beauty of nature. She was a spiritual woman of great integrity and was involved in many church and volunteer activities. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her for the kind, nurturing, and loving soul that she was, and always will be. A memorial mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on January 2nd at Saint Symphorosa at 5986 West 62nd Street, Chicago, IL 60638. Flowers, donations, and condolences may be offered here. We will be hosting a Celebration of Mary Ann's Life at 4:00 p.m - 7 p.m. on January 2nd at Cooney Funeral Home, located at 3918 West Irving Park Road, Chicago, IL 60618.
