Casimer "Casey" Durava

Durava, Casimer "Casey"--Son of the late Marie Durava (née Piotrowski) and the late Julius Durava; beloved husband of Patricia A. Durava (née Kern) for 67 years; loving father of the late Michael, Terence, Patrick (Carol), Shawn (Laurie), Maureen (Geoff Burch) and four miscarried babies whose spirits remained treasured and beloved; proud grandfather of Ashley, Amanda and Annie Durava, Molly and Caroline Durava, and Allison and Gillian Burch; fond brother of Ernest (Evelyn), Leroy (Francis), and Reginald (Shirley) all of whom preceded him in death. He entered into eternal life on October 1, 2019.
Visitation on Sunday 3-8pm at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Highway Park Ridge. Mass of Christian burial at St. Paul of the Cross, 320 S. Washington Park Ridge on Monday at 12:30pm. Internment All Saints Cemetery, River Road Des Plaines. Memorial Masses in his name would be appreciated. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Casey was a retired Chicago School Principal and graduated from the Chicago Teachers College and DePaul University. He was a member and president of the Guilford Waters Club. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a devoted Catholic, extraordinary minister of communion and president of the Holy Name Society at Our Lady of Ransom in Niles. He was a current parishioner at St Paul of the Cross in Park Ridge. He was a model of hard work, devotion to family, and a steadfast faith. He will be deeply missed.
