Tracy C Nelson

Tracy C. Nelson, age 51, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones on April 13, 2024. She leaves a legacy of love, laughter, and boundless energy that touched the lives of all who knew her.

Tracy was Matt Nelson's beloved wife and the devoted mother of Casey, Shane, Keira, and Luke. She was also a cherished sister to Kathleen Meade (Shawn) and Daniel Panattoni (Jennifer).

Born to Gene Panattoni and Rosemarie Panattoni, Tracy grew up in a loving family environment that instilled in her the values of compassion, dedication and humor. She was also a beloved daughter-in-law to Dick Nelson and Jean Nelson.

Tracy was a woman of many talents and passions. She was the heart and soul behind Rosemary and Jean’s Public House in Lombard, IL, where she welcomed patrons with her warm smile and unforgettable charm. Tracy's dedication to creating a welcoming atmosphere brought people together, fostering countless memories and friendships within the community.

Known for her infectious sense of humor and unwavering kindness, Tracy had a knack for uplifting and inspiring those around her. Her "work hard, play hard" ethos was evident in everything she did, whether she was orchestrating elaborate parties or committing to a theme with unmatched enthusiasm. 

One of Tracy's greatest joys in life was watching her children thrive, especially when they were on the field and pursuing their passions. She poured her heart into supporting them, relishing every moment of their victories and sharing the pain of their defeats.

Tracy's best friend and partner in life was her adoring husband, Matt. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. From Western Illinois University to Arizona to California and back home to Lombard, IL, they journeyed through life hand in hand and created lasting memories with the family they built together. 

Tracy approached each day with grace, dignity, and decorum, leaving an indelible mark on those around her. She made us all better people.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Cooney Funeral Home located at 625 Busse Hwy in Park Ridge. On Monday, April 22, 2024, family and friends are asked to meet at St. Robert Bellarmine Church for a 10:00 am mass. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Lombard’s food bank, Outreach House.
