Seal, Preston Vern - Passed away peacefully in Johnson City, TN on Friday, February 23, 2018, in his 93rd year. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Betty, and a granddaughter, Kelly James. He is survived by five children: Marcy (George) Williams, Melissa (Denis) Kania, Melinda (David) Duncan, Kerry (Jennifer) Seal, and James (Stephanie) Seal; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Mr. Seal was born in Gate, Oklahoma but moved to Chicago as a child. He served three years with distinction as an Army technical sergeant in World War II. He was captured in the Battle of the Bulge and held as a POW in Germany. He earned several medals, including the Purple Heart, for his dedication and bravery. He lived in Park Ridge for over 60 years then moved to Tennessee to live with his son, Kerry. A viewing will take place at Cooney Funeral Home in Park Ridge on Friday March 9 from 11am-noon with a service at noon. Burial immediately to follow at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery.
