Odell,
You were one of the most joyfilled, sharing man I have had the pleasure to know for 5 decades.... In your prime, you were a master carpenter that my father - Fred Boyd and I had the had the honor to have worked with and could see the pride you took in your craftsmanship.
I remember one summer day I had finished up early at the Botanic Gardens, and instead of heading home, I drove to my brother Kevin's apt, Odell was there helping Kevin, Odell had installed a Pulley- Sling, attached to the ceiling above Kevin's chair to make it easier for Kevin to keep his leg elevated,
After we had shared some time, I offered to go pickup something from Susie's Drive Thru on Montrose as Kevin wanted the Beltbuster something something with a large something and extra something...
Odell offered to come with, he asked if he could drive the xke, I said here you go and handed him the keys, - Odell - was, as many know, an excellent mechanic and, was so careful with his Mustang.....I thought what the heck,... we climbed in, put the top down, put on some Rockin Music and headed down Cullom Ave at some insane speed, he headed over to the Kennedy, got the jaguar up to speeds that I had never attempted and finally, made our way over to Suzie's..... I have to say, that was one memorable afternoon with Odell......
God Bless you my brother, Know you will be missed.
Love JimB

Odell, you will be missed by all of us. You were always there to lend a hand to family and friends without ever taking a dime for it. You were a good husband; father, brother, friend and son. I will hold on to all the good memories and smile when I think that now you are no longer in pain and you are finally able to see your baby that became one of God’s angels at a very early age. Rest in peace my dear brother. I love you. Lynda (Emberton) Norton

So, so sad. Odell Emberton Jr. my brother Kevin's best friend since childhood and a loyal family friend, went to be with the LORD today (Wednesday). He was such an important part of our lives, a person that you could admire because of his commitment to his wife Cheryl, his children, his family, his zest for life, his true nature of being a real man. And most importantly an honest responsible considerate friend who loved God.

You were my friend since I was about 4 years old.
( You stepped in with Cheryl when my daughter Rebekah Lynch was just an infant, and helped me through many a rough time.)
You generously helped my brother Kevin Boyd when he had his foot surgery, and you washed and bandaged his feet for him daily.
Jesus did that for His disciples out of love. You were a great example of what true love for a friend is.

We will meet again dear friend.
I will remember you with all of my heart. I love you. I love your family.

May the memories of your kindness and generous love, be a blessing and a comfort to all of those who knew and treasured your time with them.
