Message from My Teacher Mr. Dyra
January 25, 2023 1:50 AM

I was hoping to one day catch up with you and tell you how much you inspired me to pursue my Bachelor’s in Business Communications. I remember being your student at Walt Disney Magnet School and how you stood up for me when I was forced into an altercation by another student when you knew I did not want to fight him. I remember also how you took the time to know my grandfather and my mother that was attending Northeastern University. You were an amazing teacher and very influential to me.
Words cannot say how I feel knowing that you have passed. I know you left us years ago from what I just read but it feels so sudden to me. I lost my grandmother (2018), my uncle (2020), and then my mom (2021). Thank the Heaven’s my grandfather is still with me. I had hoped that I could see you with my gramps again just to see you smile and let you both share experiences again. You were really 1 of a kind Mr. Dyra. A real hero both in your service to our country and your appreciation to those that served like my grandfather did in WWII and the Korean War.
Last time I asked about how you were doing was when I emailed with Mr. Page (The Homeroom Leader from then). He said you had retired and that you were still involved in so many educational things.
I just know that you were magnificent. I never realized how (insider) political and difficult teaching can be until my mother became a teacher years later. Your were definitely influential to her enthusiasm and also mine to go further with my education. Thank you Mr. Dyra, you are missed still and will continue to be missed sir.

Respectfully,
Alan
